What have I been up to?

This past week I had a freelance teaching gig in Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean. It was at an amazing resort and the weather was beautiful. We came back on Wednesday evening just in time for this blizzard! I wish we could have stayed a few more days.

A new print for the kitchen.

I got this great print for Christmas and just framed it for our kitchen. It's by my friend Ali Douglass. I thought I would show you a few of her other pieces as well as her great work studio. She makes all kinds of handmade objects as well as her illustrations, check out her Etsy shop!

Vintage craft file

I've posted before about amazing craft stuff I luckily got from my aunt, who got it from the janitor's wife at her school. I'm still not sure how I exactly ended up with her craft files, but it's an amazing treasure trove. She filed them all in this accordion file, all labeled diligently. Lately I wanted to make a small afghan in the classic chevron pattern. So I turned to the files. Here is the progress. I received all this after she died, but I wish I could have met her.
