Just one more post for 2008. Here are a few Christmas presents we made. As I've mentioned before my husband's family is Polish. For their gift exchange I made his aunt a mini Pajaki chandelier inspired by this one. Making these paper decorations is a long Christmas tradition meaning "spiders of straw".
Also, my husband's been making granola for gifts this Christmas. I helped him with some labels and packaging.
I hope everyone has a great 2009!
So cute Laura. I wouldn't mind you getting my name in a gift exchange!
Is that some sort of natural straw? I made flower garlands for Midsummer for Wondertime Magazine (a parenting magazine) and I covered plastic straws with fabric and cut flowers from felt (shown here:

Which issue of Weddings will your wedding be in?
Happy New Year.

Your presents are very nice. I didn't know "granola", it seems good.
Happy new year!

Hi Courtney,
I used natural straw, and cut the ends into .5" lengths and mixed it with punched tissue paper. My wedding will probably be in the Summer '09 issue of MS Weddings.
thanks,
Laura

I am a granola lover. Do you ever sell on etsy? I would be intersted. :)

Love the granola packaging! Just darling... and, of course, even the tasty titles make me wish I had been on your gift list. LOL!

Hi, I adore those labels you have made for the pot tops... I wanted to do something similar for some pots of mincemeat I made at Christmas... can these labels be bought as blanks, if so would you be able to tell me where. I love the scalloped edges, so pretty, but modern too.

The chandelier you made is incredible! How long did it take you to make it?
And..I agree with everyone else. The packaging for your granola was really cute.

Please, please, please, share how you made the pajaki, and where you bought the materials. I'm begging you! I MUST make one of these.

You may believe these four proverbs:
All men are poets at heart.
Anger is a wind which blows out the lamp of the mind.
After the verb to love, to help is the most beautiful verb in the world.
Be not angry that you cannot make others as you wish them to be, since you cannot make yourself as you wish to be.
